A world premiere about the self-acceptance of being fat.

Dates
February 9–19, 2023
Season
2022–23

Co-created and performed by Keshia Cheesman and Bianca Miranda. Through skits and songs, two self-described fat women of colour explore their friendship and society's perceptions of fatness. The production confronts self-acceptance, fatphobia, and personal worth through comedic formats including dance routines, fairytales, mock newscasts, and lectures. The Martha Cohen Theatre installed larger seats to accommodate patrons up to 500 lbs — a first for fully accessible seating at the venue. Produced by Downstage in association with Handsome Alice and Theatre Calgary; presented by Alberta Theatre Projects.
